Server and hosting

If you’re not sure you need a server, you most likely don’t yet: start with the Website section. Your own server is freedom and responsibility. For the same capabilities it’s cheaper than hosting and does whatever you tell it, but someone has to watch it: update, back up, notice when it’s down. I set it up so it watches itself and you hear about problems before your clients do.

What people come here with

  • Choose and set up a VPS
  • Pack it into Docker, so moving and restoring is one command
  • Backups that really restore
  • Be the first to know the site is down
  • Updates without breaking things
  • Key-based access, no passwords

Can't see your situation here?

Just describe it in your own words. If it's about the server, we'll sort it out.
